Security Architect • Jun, 2021 — Present
I am currently responsible for proposing new system security architecture and
following proposals from initial whitepaper and requirement allocation all the
way to system implementation and evaluation. I work with various government
contractors to provide technical expertise and oversight while bolstering
efforts to improve security requirement traceability and develop validation
and verification procedures. In addition to systems engineering and architecture
responsibilities, I also perform various risk assessments to identify risk in
current organizational policies and engineering efforts.
- Authored multiple whitepapers to propose new system security architecture including public key infrastructure design, certificate authority design, multi-factor authentication system design, and situational awareness/incident response procedures
- Led a security architecture working group in order to develop public key infrastructure and digital certificate system requirements
- Developed a revised system of systems security baseline requirements document in order to establish new and attainable system of systems security requirements
- Worked with subsystem representatives to bolster an improved requirements verification, validation, and traceability effort designed to ensure security requirements are met by federated subsystems
- Developed initial test procedures for system of systems network monitoring tools (Navy proprietary)
- Conducted risk assessments (NIST 800-30) for various issues including external data connections and non-volatile memory device handling procedures
Security Researcher • Jun, 2021 — Present
In addition to my security engineering and architecture role, I also contribute to
security research efforts seeking to augment engineering efforts and highlight new
technologies for incorporation into future systems and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Identified and tested multiple binary, firmware, kernel, and source code debloat tools for use in future DevSecOps pipelines
- Developed a simple user web interface for the debloat tools using Python and the Flask framework that increased debloat tool usability and decreased workflow time by 50%
Data Analyst • Dec, 2020 — Jun, 2021
Prior to my roles in Cybersecurity, I analyzed data gathered from various
corporate sources and developed solutions or alternative methods of processing
and visualizing. I designed, evaluated, and recommended changes of forms and
reports to better improve corporate processes and provide valuable insight to
leadership. I also prepared recommendations for implementation of new systems and
procedures.
- Converted several legacy PDF forms to Confluence webpages for easier ingestion of user input data and simpler processes for data harvesting
- Created visualizations and dashboards for form data to demonstrate the utility of digitization for business operations using Tableau and Python

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst • Sep, 2020 — Dec, 2020
I analyzed and defined EDI requirements for clients, especially for needs
and circumstances that are slightly unusual. I provided advice and education
to clients concerning EDI guidelines and capabilities as well as created
relevant data mapping documents. Collaboration with programmers and internal
staff to develop and test new or modified systems was critical to accomplishing
tasks efficiently and with less proneness to error.
- Analyzed and defined EDI requirements for clients, especially for non-standard needs and circumstances
- Provided advice and education to clients concerning EDI guidelines and capabilities
- Created data mapping documents for integration between supply chain components
- Collaborated with programmers and internal staff to develop and test new or modified systems
- Developed and maintained communication links with trading partners
